With about four months to the October 10, 2020 governorship election in Ondo State, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has stated that the party will not adopt zoning arrangement.
The National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, disclosed this when one of the party’s top aspirant in the state, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), visited the national secretariat to obtain his expression of interest form.
According to Secondus who was represented by the Deputy National Chairman (South), Hon. Yemi Akinwonmi, it is the responsibility of the party to talk about zoning.
Secondus emphasized that the focus of the National Secretariat of the party is to conduct an integrity based primary and as well ensure a level playing ground for all aspirants.
While assuring the aspirants of a transparent process, Secondus expressed delight in the youthfulness of most of the aspirants vying for the PDP’s ticket.
On his part, Jegede said all the aspirants were working to ensure that PDP emerges victorious in the forthcoming governorship poll.
He noted that the opposition party was ready to wrestle power from the incumbent APC-led government in Ondo State.
“The forthcoming governorship election is the project of all the residents of the state, not an individual project”.
